Individual and population/herd immunity are at most depend on the nature of effector cells on first encounter and immune memory cells on re-infection or boost vaccination. The present opinion paper tempts to propose human herd classification on the bases of memory immune cell nature. The immune memory stratification of the immune herd stats with; baseline immune memory function, innate immune memory, infection induced memory, pre-existing and current immune memory and vaccine induced memory. Based on this stratification and in accordance with. Five classes of human immune herd as; homeostatic herd immunity HHI, a low grade innate and adaptive memory cells driven by environmental and/or endogenous microbiomes, herd trained immunity HTI driven by innate immune memory cells and confinement, natural infection induced herd immunity, Herd mixed or hybrid HMI immunity initiated by past infection or past vaccination and current immune memory of innate and adaptive nature. As well as, vaccine induced herd immunity VHI mediated by effector and memory B or T lymphocytes primed by vaccine antigens. The paradigm of classification of herd immunity starts as dipartite, tripartite then reach the penta-partite classification systems. Non of both dipartite and tripartite system showed consistency and memory bases stratification. The present system depends on memory cell nature and on the stratification of that immune memory. The penta-partite system may be novel in its context.
